For our last Urban Craft Camp calligraphy workshop we partnered with The Library Shop located inside the new San Diego Central Public Library. We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our workshop, the room was just gorgeous and it had the best lighting we could have asked for. The new library is just magnificent. If you haven’t had a chance to visit it yet, please do so asap. You will fall in love with it. And while you are there, please stop by The Library Shop on the first floor :) They have all sorts of goodies. It’s truly a one-stop shop for books, jewelry, children’s merchandise, gifts and art.
These workshops are a lot of work to put together but at the end of the day they are so rewarding. From all the friends and connections we make, skills and crafts we learn, there is so much goodness happening in one room :) Making and mingling is addicting :)
I want to thank Sarah Olson for taking pictures of the event for us, and Marcie from Red Star Ink and Wendelline Papers for donating some cute goodies to all the attendees. Friends, if you live in San Diego or nearby and would like to attend one of the Urban Craft Camp workshops you can be added to the mailing list right here. Or you can follow us on social media under @urbancraftcamp. To see more pictures of our calligraphy workshop please go here. Cheers! Ana

Our talented friend and graphic designer Marcie of Red Star Ink agreed on leading the workshop, so we knew we were onto something special. The event quickly sold out and we had a full house, with 32 attendees, making it quite an enjoyable morning!

You probably have heard of Darby Smart by now. At Darby Smart, they turn designer’s simple DIY projects that range from home décor to jewelry into pre-packed kits that include chic materials and simple instructions. The kits contain everything you need to create your project. No more running around all over town to get all the supplies and tools needed to finish that project. Super clever, right?!
And I’m thrilled to announce that I teamed up with Darby Smart to design an exclusive DIY Kit for them and it was launched today YAY! It’s a Cross-Stitch Tote and I think you will love it. The kit comes with a lovely Black Baggu Duck Bag – we all love Baggu Bags, right? – and all the supplies, tools and step-by-step instruction needed to make this lovely tote. It’s only $29 (shipping included). Quantities are limited so get yours before they sell out!
A special thank you to my lovely shop Assistant Ashley Phillips for being my model for the photo shoot :)
Happy Making and I hope you enjoy the kit!

A few months ago Jen of My Three Sons and I held a fun “String Art” workshop at her lovely home in South Park, San Diego. It was so successful and fun that we’ve decided to continue the concept of making and mingling. After a lot of brainstorming we are excited to introduce you to “Urban Craft Camp” – creative craft workshops to inspire the maker in all of us. Our next class will be held at Progress, a modern boutique shop in South Park, San Diego and we’d love if you could join us for a great morning of crafting, mingling, and treats. We’ll show you how to create a one-of-a-kind tote bag incorporating hand printing, embroidery and other surface design techniques. Come Make + Mingle with us! Space is very limited so please go here to reserve your spot.
If you are interested in becoming involved and promoting your business please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always looking for creative minds to partner with.
Logo and flyer were designed by talented Marcie of Red Star Ink in case anyone is wondering :)

What a fun time we had at the Valentine’s event at the San Diego Anthropologie store. We had a full house of darling ladies ready to craft a Valentine garland that we created especially for the event.
Refreshing drinks and aren’t those jars adorable?
Still dreaming of those tablecloths.
Beautiful flower arrangements.
Everyone got to take this lovely goodie bag home full of goodies that a few of my local sweet friends and shop owners kindly donated to the event.
Sweet Conni helping me to prepare for the event.
Happy camper :)
Our face painting station was a big hit.
The sweet Anthropologie San Diego store managers, my big bump and I :)
So many cute faces.
and fun ladies :)

So while I wait for this sweet baby girl to arrive I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning, organizing, nesting and thinking. Part of my new year’s resolution is to post on the blog more often, but things get busy and I sadly don’t post as often as I would like to. However, last week I created these cute easter projects with my son Ian and I thought it would be a shame not to share them with you guys. They are super easy to make and I bet you already have most of these supplies at home. Well, I hope you enjoy it.
For the bunny boxes: You’ll need is a gift box, felt, wiggly eyes, hot glue, pompom and a pen. Fill them with your favorites easter eggs and voilà! super easy, right? I sell these cute boxes in my shop if you ever need them.
For the bunny cans: You’ll need an empty tin can, fabric or paper to cover it, felt, wiggly eyes, hot glue and pompom. I used mod podge to glue and seal both fabric and paper to the can. Super easy! your kids will love making them :)
Happy Easter everyone!!! I hope my baby bunny arrives by this Sunday. I’m officially 40 weeks pregnant today and I can’t wait to meet her. xoxo, ana
